Foxes
And Flattery dear diary
…...
Once upon a time…NOT! Yesterday I was walking through the
barnyard heading for the chicken coop. I had been told to collect
some eggs from our old speckled hen, Felicity. When I noticed a
peacock strutting across a nearby field. I stopped, because I figured
that since I had a school project on peacocks, I might as well try to
find out what he was doing. Its not like the
eggs will walk away I thought. So I followed
him and this is what I saw....
He
was perched on a big gray rock with a piece of cheese in his beak,
when suddenly a stench so foul reached my nose that it made my hair
stand on end. Its the cheese I realized, its so old
its gone bad and smelly! Just
then a fox appeared seemingly out of nowhere so silent and stealthy I
don't think even a dog could have heard him.
The
fox stood there for a minute or two gazing longingly at the cheese,
his mouth watering with anticipation and then he spoke. “My dear
dear friend,” he slyly said. “Your tail feathers are gorgeous
shades of blue, gold, and red. Your intelligent black eyes, how
enchanting.” The bird puffed itself up quite pleased of himself and
happy because of the praise, as the fox drawled cleverly on while
creeping closer and closer to the rock until he stopped right in
front of it. I was shocked an animal talking? I pinched myself
“ouch!” Nope definitely not dreaming. it still hurts! the fox
spoke again, this time looking right up at the bird. “I'm sure,”
said the fox cunningly “that if you look this good why, your voice
must seem as if an angel were singing instead of a bird. Do sing me a
note, please do,” said the fox imploringly. The poor bird woke up
suddenly from his day dreaming and came back to the real wold. “Wait
a second!” He cried. “I know this trick! Your trying to get me to
open my... oops!” But
it was to late, the piece of cheese tumbled from the open mouth of
the bird and right past the snapping jaws of the waiting fox! “You
stupid bird!” crowed the fox, “you thought you would never fall
for a foxes trick didn't you!
Well,
my dad is considered the wisest animal in the forest!” It was then
that I realized he was only a cub. He paused to gobble up the cheese.
“Yuck!' He said, “this cheese is as bad as... um.. as bad as..
uh.... as bad as if the only meat there was is a turtle that you cant
reach through those ridiculous shells of theirs!” And with that, he
turned around and just as quietly as before disappeared. As I
started down the road toward home, I had a lot to think about and I
still do, but I think that the most important lesson from this is,
don't fall for flattery, and stay away from foxes. Oh yeah when I got
back I spent practically the whole after noon chasing down runaway
eggs it turns out that not only can animals talk but eggs can also
run and fast!
Alice in wonder land
once
upon a time, there was a little girl named Alice
who
was siting on a branch, swinging her legs as she
listened
to her sister reading, out loud. her pet cat Dinah
was
on her lap, and Alice was stroking her, she peeked into the book her
sister was reading. there were no pictures or conversations in it!
And of what use is a book, thought Alice if it has no pictures or
conversations
in
it, by now she had finished stroking Dinah and was making a daisy
chain the middles of the flowers reflected the golden sunlight
shining through Alice's
golden
brown hair she let her mind drift she found her self imagining her
own little world where nothing makes sense what woke her from her day
dreams was a white rabbit with a little bit of pink around its eyes
pass by and strangely enough she wasn't surprised in the least
when
the rabbit spoke

ALL BECAUSE
OF A BRACELET

CHAPTER ONE
MY
STORY
It
all started one day [it was the second of January I think] when I was
walking in the park with my dog. Something felt wrong. I looked at my
wrist and gasped! “ My bracelet is missing!” I said.
It
was a beautiful bracelet, gold chain glittered with silver
sparkles, little charms made of bronze, silver and gold were hung on
it. It was the only thing in the world that truly belonged to me.
Well, I can't really say that; it was the only thing besides my
talent for ballet. You see, my parents died when I was two. I had no
relatives, no money and there was no orphanages any where for miles
around.
So
I fled to the woods. Now you might think that a little two year old
wouldn't stand a chance in the woods without company but I can assure
you, I was fine. I grew up there till I was five, and was found by
the town's new ballet teacher who took me in and found my talent for
dancing. So I became a professional ballet dancer. I collected and
saved the money I earned and bought the bracelet.
The
bracelet was special and I just couldn't stand the thought of leaving
it behind for someone else to find! I told my dog to stay and went
back along the path to get it. As I turned around I saw it on the
path shining in the sun. I bent down to grab it. Suddenly I heard a
yelp! When I turned back around bracelet in hand I couldn't see my
dog any where! He had been kidnapped! Oh, sorry,dog-napped. I quickly
called the detective agency and asked for help. “ NO! I'm too busy
to search for some dog!”
yelled
a grouchy voice ] who I assumed was the detective.] So I decided to
look for him myself.
CHAPTER TWO
SEARCHING
I
called and called,I threatened,I coaxed, finally I gave up three days
later when my dog [named snowy] still hadn't shown up I decided to
try at the detective agency again. “ FINE!” said the detective. [
but he still didn't sound to happy.] “ Only don't expect me to find
any thing!” “Oh thank you!” I said, feeling very relived. “I'll
meet you at the park tomorrow at 7:00” he said, [still sounding
grouchy] “ If you don't arrive on the dot then the deal's off!”
“Okay” I said and ended the call.
CHAPTER THREE
SNOWY
I
apologize for the last chapter. It was pretty short.
Anyways
back to the story.....
I
arrived at the park one minute early so I could be sure I would be
there on time.
Through
the trees I saw a white van with the bright red logo of the detective
agency on the side. I looked at my watch. Sure enough at the exact
same time as the needles turned to 7:00
he
parked, and walked leisurely over the appointed meeting place. “
Lets get to work!” he said [grouchy as always] “ the sooner we
find that dog the sooner I can stop looking for it!”
and
so we did. As days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, the
detective started getting less and less grouchy and more and more
jumpy.
He
stammered uneasily every time I found any thing that might be a clue
as to who the dog-napper was, and had this guilty look about him all
the time. It got to a point when I didn't need any clues to help me
know who snowy's dog-napper was. That night [september 22] I decided
to follow him home. I put one hand on my other wrist so that the
sound of the charms jangling on my bracelet would be muffled. He kept
turning around as if he knew that I was following him and I had to
keep dodging behind trees all the way! When he opened the door a dog
jumped out at him barked, growled, looked up,ran toward me knocked me
over and.......
covered
my face with kisses! “ snowy!” I exclaimed “ I found you! Well
you found me actually but it doesn’t matter!” angrily I turned to
the detective. “ what have you to say for yourself?!” I demanded.
CHAPTER
FOUR
CONCLUSIONS
I'm
sorry but I didn't have enough room to finish
the
story on the other page.
I'll
back up a bit so you know were we are.....
“
What have you to say for yourself?!” I demanded. “ the thing is”
said the detective crossly “I'm tired of the fact that you get all
of the fame and I get none!” I slowly pulled my cell phone out of
my pocket. Amazingly enough, it wasn't damaged from when Snowy
knocked me onto the sidewalk. “ If you don't leave right now,” I
said nervously “ then I call the police.” Nervous or not, it must
have sounded convincing because the detective ran!
Later
when I was back at home I found out that the window had been smashed.
Tied to the rock in amongst the shards of broken glass was a note
written in red ink it said: I'LL
BE BACK!
